Bob Byerley - The Modern Day Norman Rockwell

Bob Byerley is one of the foremost painters of children today. Considered a modern day Norman Rockwell, Bob's nostalgic Trompe 'Oleil (fool-the-eye-realism) oil paintings evoke a feeling of a kinder and gentler age in which he grew up.

His classical ultra realistic interpretations of the everyday experiences of the child, awakens in the viewer, long forgotten memories. The art combines precise academic painting techniques of the Old Dutch Masters with the heart and soul of Norman Rockwell.

Byerley's children are real, not fabricated or cutsie. In his paintings, imagination abounds. His children interact naturally with fairies, elves and surrealistic imaginary animals. He paints children doing things rather than viewing things; his kids are alive with vitality and mischief. We invite you to come along and visit the Neighborhood and enjoy some of the finest art work being done today.

Toby Bluth - The Shining Gem of Disney Art

Walt Disney was a man who had an amazing ability to inspire other people to remarkable creative achievements. Toby Bluth happens to be one of those shining gems of talent that to this day draws inspiration from the life and work of Walt Disney. Starting with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs then continuing with Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo and Bambi, the first five feature length films to come out of Walt Disney Studios, according to Bluth, are the five gems in the crown of animation’s royal history.

Just as those five films marked Walt’s grand entrance into feature length storytelling they, quite appropriately, set the stage for the first five limited edition giclĂ©es in Bluth’s Disney Fine Art portfolio. Infused with all the depth, texture and richness of Toby’s original watercolors these fine prints will be enjoyed for generations, very much in the spirit of the timeless classics that inspired them.

“Creating the moment that you think you saw…” is how Toby Bluth describes his approach in conceiving each one of his watercolor masterpieces. Believing that how one remembers a film is often different from the actual film itself, Toby paints what he perceives as the collective memory of a film experience and taps into the emotional essence of the story.

Inspired by the beautiful plants that grow in the soft climate of Southern England, Brenda Burke’s floral paintings uphold the classic traditions of the Old Masters, with the added zest of modern usage and the beauty of flowers which were not available to the great artists of previous centuries.

Burke’s work demonstrates her experience in classical techniques, with intriguing compositions full of tonal contrasts, light and shade, and the secret geometry that has mesmerized critics and collectors through the ages and, indeed, throughout her career. Whether working in oils on canvas, encaustic on board or tempera and oil on gesso panels, Burke’s paintings convey depth and richness combined with exquisite detail.}

Brenda Burke is also a highly regarded portrait painter, both in England and the United States. Many of her sitters are well-known faces, and all her clients have experienced the understanding of personality, attention to detail and ambience that Burke achieves in her “speaking likenesses”.

“We were moved to tears when we saw the painting Brenda has created of our family”, said Mrs Suzanne Levere (2004), “and truly it will be a family heirloom for generations to come...”
